The Camaraderie Platoon invites ALL service women/men to join the Farm outing... for a day of fun at the Fountain House High Point Farm! Purpose of Camaraderie Platoon: To have a place where service men and women of all eras: come to meet/talk with each other; cook/eat together; be part of the solution; receive anonymous, free mental health, heal the invisible wounds… endless possibilities through self-help, peer support/camaraderie; resume review; mock interviews - prepare for civilian job; have a place we feel comfortable and we can call “Our Home”. Come join us and help us as we support you in continuing the camaraderie among the military community! Our Bronx Hero - Please join the East Bronx History Forum and the American Legion Post #1065 for a co-naming of Newbold Avenue between Castle Hill and Havemeyer for WWII Army pilot, 2Lt. John N. Sekul - Newbold Avenue resident shot down and crash-landed behind enemy lines; captured, POW; then executed.

Time: Procession at 11:30am / 12Noon: Official start of the co-naming ceremony to 2Lt. John N. Sekul Place!

Sgt. John Peck (ret.) served two tours as a Marine during the War on Terror. He became a quadruple amputee (injured by an IED for the second time); received a groundbreaking bilateral arm transplant in 2016; one of only two military members to have undergone this complex  procedure. He's an advocate for organ donation and continues his philanthropy... also becoming a motivational speaker focusing on... inspiring others with his message of hope and overcoming obstacles with humor and resolve. Join us with "Sgt John Peck" for the release of his new title "Rebuilding Sergeant Peck: How I Put Body and Soul Back Together After Afghanistan" (Hardcover).
